Saint Paul, Minn.–Washington University’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation has released an updated model showing that Minnesota COVID-19 deaths will peak April 23 through the 26, with an estimated 625 deaths by August 4.
This is a stark contrast to Governor Walz’s March 25 prediction of upwards of 74,000 deaths in Minnesota due to COVID-19. Although, Walz acknowledges IHME data, he has extended the “Stay at Home” order until May 4.
