It’s a Great Time Right Now!

3/13/2021 ST PAUL, MN–Well, the covid restrictions suck. Forced masks and mask mandates totally suck. And the local and national news completely sucks. And the constant talk about getting experimental vaccines and becoming an American guinea pig absolutely sucks. But beyond that, if you look closely it’s a great time right now. It really is a great time to be alive and part of this grand social experiment. Let me explain.

Jobs. The job market is great. Do not listen to the MSM on this. Jobs are out there if you look. They may be low-level, but with a budget and some reduction in YOUR lifestyle you can maintain and thrive. For example, I have a full-time job and a side hustle. The side hustle I picked up during covid times. My wife has a new full-time job because she was laid off from her old full-time job because of government restrictions due to covid. We are taking care of a family of four and paying off our debt just fine. You can too.

YOUR DEBT. Pay off all debt. The rat race is a great reminder to get out of debt as soon as possible, or better yet: don’t get into debt ever. You don’t have to be a human rat, or in a race. We are making headway. We kicked it down with our full-time jobs, and the new side hustle. Also, the Trump Stimulus Check, and the soon-to-arrive Biden Stimulus Check, go directly to the student loan debt. We didn’t go out or buy shoes or remodel with that money. We used it to our advantage. Get on a program and pay off all your debt. We are using our resources to get to where we want to be.

A roof over your head? Housing is relatively minimal if you reduce your spending. With the debt cuts outlined from above, you can live very well. Our rental payments went down because we bartered with the property management in lieu of covid. If you reduce the amount you spend on cars, credit cards, going out–which with lockdowns has made it much easier. You can get a roof over your head for a small portion of your monthly budget. I figured 1/6 of our budget when we are debt free come 8/3/21. You can do it too with a SERIOUS budget. Looking at houses and interest rates, with a down payment of 21%, you can get your monthly payments low, low. Less than our rental payments right now in the BIG CITY.

With that said, times are great right now. Currently, it’s wonderful. Brave people can run the job market while their competition (which is everyone) shelters at home. By reducing YOUR debt you can amass more of YOUR freedom, and eventually move to a free stat with less restrictions, or move to your dream house, or move to the countryside, whichever you prefer. That is freedom. That alone is motivation. This covid situation has opened my eyes to opportunities. As when cars became popular, the wise horse and buggy driver took advantage; he did what he had to do, he watched what was hot in the market and made hay! You can do it too. It’s a great time right now. You just got to see it to believe it.

There Are No Jobs Out There?

OPINION: What are Your Mask Goals?

Minneapolis, MN 3/5/2021—Texas lifted its mask mandate and people are losing it. In blue states with strict mask mandates, the rules stand firm, even without unequivocal proof that these measures work. Concern over restrictions being lifted have taken center stage and become individual American identities. The outrage from lifting of restrictions appears deeply personal, not because of the perceived health benefits, but because, perhaps the goals they are surrogating are under attack.

On the ground science, there is not a state with a mask mandate that has done better than any other state without. Coupled with the idea of vague success, masks have become more of a religious belief in a sense now. Goal to make you believe, to keep you in line with this belief. For instance, beginning July 25, 2021, Minnesota implemented a mask mandate. What happened after that mask mandate? Case spikes, death spikes, etc. What did the mask mandate do? How did (and have) folks carried on about the mandate ever since? They obey without question. And they want others to obey without question as well. It makes them feel good, and the virtuous image might make them feel good too.

So how did goals come into play here. Were we lacking goals prior to making masking our goals? What are goals? What goals do we have? Do we have any other goals besides making sure people comply with government orders that require you to wear something on your face? Are our new goals to get people to agree with our (mask) beliefs without question? American citizens have invested in many goals, or personal ideology stances. Dislike of a political person. Dislike of policy change. Now they are investing in the idea that they must have others believe government measures in the form of “masks work” without question.

The issue here may be that when folks don’t comply with their new government approved goal, then the idea of fear, danger, and risk go out the window. There is presented a total loss of personal accountability and control because others do not choose to abide to your beliefs and your goals. Having others not comply means you fail at your goals and you need to correct that. Unfortunately many have made it their new goal to make the government’s goal their life’s work, and that is why we are where we are today.

We could have been bettering selves. Focusing on personal finance. Honing our fitness and health. Reading and educating ourselves. But now goals have come from up top. The goal was to make sure you were masked. The goal was, and is, a big government goal.

As more states across America choose to open we will see this scenario play out more and more. People have become lost, ships without rudders, without someone giving them a goal. If there is no mask goal, there is no goal. Perhaps we have generations focused on nothing, being told what their goals are. But are they? Sure, it’s great an expert says something, but can that expert back up their claim with proof, data, and evidence. If they can’t, are they just false prophets peddling control? I have no idea, but they have made an impression on many people, they have made their goals their goals.
